
Who are you?
My name is Vanessa Wideski. I am a Métis, Polish, and Samoan mother of four, and the founder and co-executive director of the Low Entropy Foundation.
What is your profession/business?
I lead the Low Entropy Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering social and economic well-being across cultures, with a special focus on honoring the traditions and perspectives of Indigenous and multicultural communities.
How long have you done that profession/business?
I have been leading the Low Entropy Foundation since its inception. Our organization has been making a positive impact in the community for several years.
What is your favorite service to offer?
My favorite service to offer is our community food distribution and activities program. This initiative supports vulnerable and Indigenous people in the Tri-Cities area by providing essential resources and fostering a sense of community.
Tell me about your connection to Metro Vancouver?
I have a deep connection to Metro Vancouver, both personally and professionally. I have lived here for many years and am committed to making a positive impact in this diverse and vibrant community through my work with the Low Entropy Foundation.
What is your favorite Metro Vancouver winter thing to do?
In the winter, I love exploring the beautiful local mountains. Snowshoeing in the serene and snowy landscapes of Metro Vancouver’s parks is one of my favorite activities.
What is your favorite Metro Vancouver summer thing to do?
During the summer, I enjoy spending time at the beaches and parks. Taking my kids to explore the stunning coastal areas and having picnics in the lush green spaces are some of my favorite summer activities.
Tell us something about yourself that most people do not know?
Most people do not know that I have personal lived experience with homelessness and struggling with addiction and mental health. These experiences have deeply influenced my commitment to helping others in similar situations through my work with Low Entropy.
